can we replace a pressure transmitter of range 0 to 25
Kg/cm2 by a Pressure transmitter of range 0 to 10
Kg/cm2 ?.. Will it affect 4 to 20 mA output signal which we
will feed to the PLC.

Yes it will affect the 4-20 mA signal. say for example if we are using PT of rsnge 0 to 25 bar bt internally we use only 0 to 10 bar range den it can be replaced otherwise not

yes, only make sure the pressure will never rise beyond 10 I
think its design for 25 in safety condition. if u wish O/p in
0-10 you can scale 4-20 ma as 0-10 at plc, no need to change
tx.

it depend upon ur range in the application for example
piston producing pressure within 10kg/cm2 then u can use it
by change program in the plc otherwise u cant

Yes first of all note whether range is suitable for ur
application.replace transmitter & accordingly change the
range in DCS.

Answer / madhav kamble
Yes. you can replace the pressure transmitter form 0-25 to
0-10. it willnot change the 4-20 mA which we will send to
the PLC but you to change the calibration at PLC for New
0-10 transmitter.

Answer / govind singh
Going by standards, 20 mA of first transmitter will read 25 kg/cm2 pressure, while same reading for second transmitter will be 10 kg/cm2. So at same pressure, both transmitters will send different current signals. So calibration at the DCS end will be needed.

first of all you need permission to replace pressure tx
from operation instead 0-25 by swaping 0-10cause it will
effect process & may you r going to upset process other
point of view by technical you need to configure it & it
will give you output vice varsa

Answer / dinesh kumar
Its not possible by answering without knowing the application
But in both the cases v can get the 4-20mA output
In case if the o/p doesnt goes beyond 10kg then v can replace and the o/p side of tx shud be calibrated before installing and the changes shud be entered on plc.
In another case if the user wants better accuracy he may b using 0-25kg/cm2 tx eventhough the internal pressure is b/w 0-10kg/cm2

Answer / trideep
If range is in b/w 0-10 kg/cm2 or with in that, then it will do..
