Answer / duraiarasu
as per Faraday law of electromagnetic induction whenever
conductor cuts magnetic field emf will be induced in it
in ac emf whereas in dc mm f hence ac only can be generated
in ALTERNATORS BUT THERMOCOUPLE AND SOLAR ARE DIFFERENT

Answer / prakash
according to Faraday law of electromagnetic induction emf is
produce when a conductor cuts the magnetic field.
But hear due to the rotation of magnetic field the pole is
not constant so we get the emf pulse ie ac
example- we get ac 50hz ac by 50pair of pole changes per second.

Answer / ravinder
dc is nt genrated becoz
1.induced emf is ac if v use brushes to convert it to dc den there would be more losses, sparking etc.so due to dis we nt use genrete dc
2.effeciency of the system dec as there are more losses.

Answer / t swetha
for the generation of the emf ther must be a relative
motion between the conductors and field.then the resultant
is having the positive and negative half cycles so ac is
generated and it can be converted to the DC by an alternator

I need to compare the energy consumption of an industrial machine before and after improving. Shall I compare the apparent power or the active power? I know usually factories use compensated capacitors (or other similar components) to compensate the reactive power, so if I use the apparent power, it's not the real power consumed.
