WHILE CONVERTING THE 66KV TO 440V TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS
ARE THERE;
1 THE TRANSFORMER DESIGN WILL BE VERY CRITICAL.
2 TAPPING THAT ARE NEEDED FOR INDUSTRIES WHICH REQUIRES THE
POWER ABOUT 11KV OR 33KV WE CAN'T PROVIDE DIRECT TO THEM. WE
WILL REQUIRE ANOTHER TRANSFORMER FOR STEP UP

various places.With 400 V, the lines may extended to max 1
KM considering voltage drop and line losses.33 KV/433V s/s
requires circuit breakers and larger area. Hence can not
erected inside towns along the roads or underground.It is
economical and easier to have 11 KV sub-transmission lines
and 11KV/ 440 V s/s for public utility.

Pl.go to internet giving options for 33kv / 433v we can get plenty of suppliers, and also nesco in Odissa using the same, I have seen the transformers.

In any transformer the power and frequency remains constant.So let the current be 5A(say) then power shall be 66kV x 5A=330kVA. if the voltage is stepped down then the current shall increase in order to maintain the power constant and that amount of current can damage the windings.

we have to use 66,33,11kv from generation to consumer site just for supply but its not useful for consumer b/c its very high power, that's why we convert it into 440 & 220kv by the help of power transformer, step up/step down for mainly losses.

using step down transformer.bcoz in our site directly
converting 33kv to 440v.depending upon cost.

the applicable voltage is 11,33,66,110,220,400 kv like wise for various applications if we covert direct 33 - 440 we didnt get and have to make more expanses 33,11 kv medium voltage uses.
.in power plant electrical design is like wise 440 to 220- 220-11kv or 33 kv ,11-440v aux supply purpose.
in transmission wise step up/step down for mainly losses.
