what is the working principle of a DG Set, Alternator, &
exiter

what is the working principle of a DG Set, Alternator, & exiter..

Answer / Renu Yadav

Diesel Generator Set (DG Set): The working principle of a diesel generator set (DG Set) is based on the four-stroke Otto cycle. A diesel engine in a DG Set burns fuel to create heat, which is then used to convert water into steam. This steam drives a turbine connected to an electrical generator, producing electricity.

Alternator: An alternator is an electrical device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy by the principle of electromagnetic induction. It works on the principle of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, where a changing magnetic field induces an electric current in a coil. In an alternator, a rotor (rotating part) surrounded by stationary stator windings is used to produce AC (Alternating Current) power.

Exiter: An exiter is an electrical device used in telecommunication systems for generating high-voltage pulses required for excitation of transformer coils. The working principle of an exiter involves charging a capacitor bank, which is then discharged through the primary winding of the transformer to create the required high voltage pulse.

It is a three inch fan and i want it to rotate to other direction .I've tried cutting the wire and reconnecting them inverse like black to white and white to black ,but it won't start rotating when i plug it in that way.And then it works again when i rejoin the wire to the way it is. I don't know what causing the problem. Is there anyone familiar with these small mortor?Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!! http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm163/sasukebloodwheel/110527-105859.jpg
