why demand factor less then 1 ?
Answer / Sumit Kanojia
In civil engineering, the demand factor (safety factor) is used to ensure that a structure can withstand expected loads without failure. A demand factor less than 1 indicates that the actual load applied to the structure (load factor) is less than the design load, meaning the structure has been intentionally overdesigned for safety reasons.
