when u want to creat customer master u must creat account group.
it defiens which screen and fields are necesary to the
customer master.

Account Group is used to control the customer Master Record. It involves Master Records of four types like Customer Master Record, Material Master Record, Customer Material Info Record, Pricing condition Master Record.
And Number Ranges, Partner Determination.

Customer Master Record means it is a Master record of that particular Customer. It has to be maintained for avoid duplicate or fraud accounts for the customer. For that the system will give a number to the customer, with that number from the number range it will be assigned to the partner functions like SP, SH, BP, PY form the Partner Determination.

And Material Master the MM guy will take care of that.

Account group is the frame work of customer master data.By creating account group , it will decide what are the fields to be mandatory,optional,suppressed and displayed.The customer data are grouped into 3 like general,company code and sales area.

And also in account group we declare the type of business partners (customer) sp,sh,bp and payee by assigning partner determination procedure in account group.

So the partner determination procedure cannot be prepared without account group creation.

While entering the data of customer master by using trcode vd01 or xd01 we make all entries of customer by selecting account group first .

So without account group and partner determination procedure we cannot even add a new custome.

Hi,In IBM Interview,the Scenario For an XYZ customer,The required delivery time is given by the customer say 17/july, but for transportation for material will take some 4days to reach the customer. means in SAP the PGI should happen before 4 days so that meet reqiured Delivery dated, How and where is the triggering point in SAP SD.from where the system will know delivery should happen before 4days.
