what is use of capacitor in fan
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Due to single phase, the fan will not rotate. The capacitor
is having leading power factor. That is +90 degree leading
from phase voltage.
Due to capacitor, The single phase splits into two phases.
This phase difference use to stimulate the fan to rotate.

Single phase motor are not self starting for this we
produce phase split between voltage and current by using
capacitor

Ac supply given to a equipment having winding then there is a lagging power factor then we use a capacitor which has leading power factor then voltage and current are in phase into some extent which increase power factor.

usually fan having two types of windings,i.e starting wdg &
Running wdg.
whenever we switch on the supply the fan may take the
moment slowly due to starting wdg,at this time fan requires
some reactive power(because fan wdg acts as inductive
load),at this time capacitor supplies this reactive
power.then only the fan will rotates with its own RPM.
