There are many things that need consideration while
protecting a motor. Motor faliures mainly occur due to
winding faliure. This could be due to overcurrent ,
overvoltage, etc... Back in the early days people strongly
relied on fuses but now we have motor protection relays
that monitor tempratures , currents , voltages etc.. ex GE

Answer / kalolia alap r
depend on the kind of current,i.e both a.c and d.c required
protection.. motor required starters, like basic D.O.L etc.
in small motor we do not required armature resistance but in
large size of motor,we required large armature
resistance..basicaly required component is resistence in
megaohms and some times induction regulator like auto
transformers....

What will be the effect of in HT XLPE 220 KV cable when one side of the Armour/cable ends are not grounded. Will there is difference between 3-phase voltages? like: if A. Both End of Cable grounded Phase Voltages:- V1=219 KV, v2=220 Kv, v3=220 KV. B. One End is grounded other is not: than Impact on Phase Voltages:- V1= KV, v2= Kv, v3= KV. Remain same or unchanged??
