soil solids (Vs ) OF THE GIVEN SOIL MASS, IS CALLED VOID
RATIO & denoted by e mostly expressedin %.

i.e. e= Vv/Vs e=( Vv/Vs)*100 %

The ratio on porosity

As per thumb rule cement required per 1 cum of M20 concrete is 411Kg/cum(1.57/5.5=0.285cum of cement i.e 0.285*1440=411Kg).But as per PWD rate analysis cement required is 347Kg/cum.the difference is 64Kg.This kind of difference is coming every grade of concrete.Can you give perfect suggestion regarding this.

What kind of soil has what bearin for pile work? eg sand with high water table collapses faster, black cotton soil is ideal, sand leads to more wear and tear of the boring consumables, rock takes longer and require rock augers etc etc

I have certain queries, please help to solve. a) length of pile bore is 4m.excavation quantity will be area * length where area will be pi/4 * dia*dia. Is this right? b) It is a single reamed pile of 300m dia and reamed dia is 750mm. can any body help me to calculate excavated quantity of this bulb(reamed section),, concrete quantity in bulb with showing the formulas to be used?
