What is the difference between yeild strength and compressive strength of steel???
Answer / Dharmendra Kumar Yadav
Yield strength (YS) and Compressive strength (CS) are two different properties that describe a material's ability to withstand various types of load. Yield strength refers to the point at which a material begins to deform permanently under tensile loading, while maintaining its shape under compressive loading. On the other hand, Compressive strength is the maximum load per unit area a material can withstand without collapsing (i.e., under compressive loading) before failure occurs.
