The ratio of the volume of voids ( Vv) to the volume of the
soil solids (Vs ) OF THE GIVEN SOIL MASS, IS CALLED VOID
RATIO & denoted by e mostly expressedin %.
i.e. e= Vv/Vs e=( Vv/Vs)*100 %
