The difference between se16 and se17 is
1. se16 icons will be available application. by pressing
left corner Icon(f7) TABLE CONTENTS. it will display pop up
window in that win we can choose the required fields.

2. se17 no icons will be available after giving the table
name we have to press enter. then another screen will come
we have to give X below (output) for the fields to be
displayed. Then we have to execute it will display those fields.

SE17 is very similar to SE16,both r used to search for sp.
rows within a table.
SE17 cannot b used for updates.
SE16 enables complex search criteria 4 a max. of40 flds. at
once,whereas SE17 enables simple search criteria 4 any no.
flds.once.
SE16 only allows op.to b sorted by a single col.,SE17
allows any sort sequence across multiple cols.SE16 doesnt
work with tables having std. maintainence dialog but SE17
would.

both are used to display data, the difference is in se16 the data is displayed in grid view where as in se17 the data are displayed in list view.

Another difference:
SE17 can read data from the table buffer of the instance.
SE16 is always selecting directly from the database as the SELECT has the addition BYPASSING BUFFER.
