1.Because voltage level get increased so current get
reduced.
2.Since voltage level get increased with respect to rated
voltage, so insulation become week after a certain time and
may be risky for human safety.
3.Now if frequency will increased from 50 Hz to 60Hz motor
speed also get increased.

We know that, The Speed of the motor is mainly depends on
FREQUENCY & VOLTAGE supply.
So From the 415V-50Hz to 480V-60Hz combination will
increase the speed of the motor more than 50% of rated
speed.
Anyhow This design will surely affect & Damage the motor.
Thanks...

Increase in V will cause the insulation of the winding to become weaker with the passage of time and eventually may become short, thus damaging motor and possibly surrounding components.
Increase in frequency causes an increase in motor speed and that may well be harmful as the motor is not designed to run at the new increased speed. This will also cause increase in the motors winding inductance, decrease in the current being drawn, increase in power losses.

in a dc motor motor gets damaged .
but in case of induction motor losses increases so machine
under goes over heating

In AC motors Speed is directly proptional to supply Voltage
& suplly Frequency.hence Speed increases but U increasing
Voltage more than 5% hence insulation get weaker & due to
supply frequency hystersis & eddy current loss increase
hence temperature increse & this case motormay damage
within some time

Answer / michael
the motor gets hotter and sooner damage may occur.. it is possible because
of voltage frequency ratio
415/50 = 8.3 480/60 = 8.0

Answer / mrp
if it is a induction motor the speed increases by 20%, the motor gets heated in due course of time. Still the motor can be run for short duration
