how do you calculate IKW(consumption per TR) in HVAC?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / shubhabrata sengupta
Chiller IKW/TR
Chiller Rating - 650 TR
Power Consumption – 100 KW
IKW/TR = Consumed Power in KW / Generated chiller TR.
Chiller is running at 34% i.e. 221 Generated chiller TR
Therefore IKW/TR is 100/221 = 0.45

TR= (delta T*flow)/(3.5*0.86)
and
KW=(1.73*V*I*PF)/1000
Then you have to divide TR by KW so you find Ikw of chiller

Answer / ashok
1TR --- 3.5KW
1kw ----8633btu
1TR -----12000BTU
1kw/TR --- 1.396

Answer / puneet prashar
As we know that 1 KWh = 3413 btu ( British thermal
unit)But not 1kw, but it is = 8633 btu
and 1 TR = 12000 btu
kw capacity = 12000/8633
Hence 1 TR = 1.39 kW

Answer / jitendra patel
IKW in HVAC = (Chilled water TR x 3025)/860
for example Hvac = 200Tr
Ikw = 200*3025/860
=703.48
