LT means low tension, less than 1000volts and voltage wiil
be loe and current will
high.
HT means high tension, higher than 1000 volts like
11kva,33kva,66kva. and voltage will be high, and current
will be
low

Answer / varun
supply below 3.3 KV is considered as LT but in India it is
limited to 415V and from 3.3 to 11KV it is MV but some
people consider 11KV as HT, while from 11KV to 33KV and
above is HT

LT & HT SENSE MEANINGFUL ONLY PLACE OF TERMINOLOGY.
CONSIDERING PUBLIC SENSE, DOMESTIC SUPPLY (230V),440V - THE
ONLY TWO STANDARD VOLTAGE SUPPLIES IS TERMED AS LT. THE NEXT
HIGHER VOLTAGE AVAILABLE IN INDIA IS 6.6KV (6600V ).THE 6.6
KV AND ABOVE ARE TERMED HT.
UNIVERSALLY VOLTAGE LESS THAN 1000V IS TERMED AS LT WHILE
ABOVE 1000V IS HT. AS ONLY 230V,44V ARE THE ONLY LOWER
VOLTAGES AVAILABLE IN INDIA FOR DISTRIBUTION, THE BOTH ARE
TERMED AS LT.
