what is the maximum load on for 10 kva & 25 kva transformer
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / sandep
load is depend on p.f.
say pf=1 then load is=10kw and 25kw
for pf .9 then load is=9kw and 22.5kw

Dear Friend
You forgot to furnish few more data i.e Voltage rating of
primary and secondary.
If i assume Voltage rating for 10 KVA Transformer as 230
V/110 V (Primary/secondary)and considering as single phase .
primary load current is calculated as
P=VI
10*1000(VA)=230*I
I=43.47 A
Secondary current is ,
90.90 A
Considering Transformer as 3 phase, then
P=1.732*v*I
Primary load current is
10000=1.732*230*I
I=25.10 A
Secondary is,
52.48 A

10 kva & 20 kva means transformer apparent power that is
combination of active and reactive power so we can load this
transformer below its rating coz load means only active
power .but in case of purely resistive losd we can load this
transformer upto its rating but practically purely resistive
load is not possible.

For 3phase transformer
10 KVA=10*1.4 Amp=10.4 Amps maximum
25 KVA=25*1.4 Amp=35.0 Amp max.

Answer / pillay
the max load you already said as 10 kva and 20 kva. In terms
of kw it will be 10 & 2o kw also, so long it does not exceed
10 & 20 kva ampere ratings.

What is principal to reduce earth leakage current with isolation transformer? When isolation transformer is installed in input stage of system, earth leakage current is reduced. the reason is why the leakage current of 2nd stage of isolation transformer does not affect the 1st stage's leakage current. I would like to know the reason. As you know, earth leakage current is a kind of AC. So, How to reduce earth leakage current in case that isolation transformer is used?
