i=v/R and R=rho.L/A . by analysing these fourmulas we find the size . here i is electric current in the conductor to flow or load current to flow . v is the voltage across the conductor , R is the resistance of the conductor . L is the length of the conductor ,rho is a constant of a material called specific resistance here the the material is the material of the conductor , A is the area of cross section of the conductor .

I hv a question regarding power factor improvement just after transformer. I request you to reply me plzz. thank you sir. My friend has a small unit of fabrication. in his factory the main load is a welding machine, lathe machine, grinding machine. this load is not continuous type. now our electricity board has installed 16 KVA, 11000/433 V transformer for our factory. In the energy meter (trivector meter) at LV side of transformer, i hv seen power factor value of 0.15 only when only 3 KW load was flowing. Further electricity board has suggested to install 4 KVAR capacitor at LV side after energy meter. Now my question is that if we permanantly install and switch on 4 KVAR capacitor after energy meter, during some load on transformer and also without any load on transformer, wht will be the power factor shown in energy meter?i dont want to get any penalty by electricity board, so plz suggest me if i can permanantly install and switch on the 4 kvar capacitor or not at LV side of transformer just after energy meter? we have taken HV test of 2.5 k and Megger test on 11 kv HT cable.here it shows no fault but when we are charging the same cable with 11 kv supply why the VCB 11 kv gets tripped can anybody define the possible cause of fault ?

Grounding. Dear all at one of my site we checked the amps at the earthing cable to the alternator it was found 125 to 130 A. at the neutal cable in same machine found 146A. in the same plant checked the earthing current on other alternator it was 52A, and neutral 116 A. we are facing problems with our controller and the card was damaged once. can that neutral/GND current be a reason? as there is common grounding for the Alternator,Brkr panel,Transformer?
