1. Economical. Aluminium is available in plenty. Current
flow is also less there fore conductor size is also less.
2. Considering economy we can use GI wire also , but it
will rust in due course , more rigid weighs more.
3. Cu 9 copper ) is better but it is expensive. Therefore
Alu minium is the best and wise choice.

Due to low weight of aluminium as compare to copper and
easy to install. Sag is also minimum between the two polls.

Answer / ha ha
There are two reasons
1. Economical.
2.Aluminium conductors do not produce electromagnetic
fields.Hence Electromagnetic Interference is less.Hence
they are used for HT lines.

weight and cost & conductance are three factors are more
important for transmission lines, So aluminium is selected
to transmit power, as it is light weighted , cost also less
than copper, as weight is less the construction cost of
tower is less.

Answer / parth
Since it is plenty in earth and less costly so way is their to be theft an has high resistivity so wire should be thin so that current can flow

The conductivity of the silver is more than copper. and the conductivity of the copper is more than Aluminium, but As per availability of material in nature the Aluminium is used. other fact it is cheap and easily available. it is lighter so we choose Aluminium.

how can we calculate that how much capacitor is needed for a system to increase the pf?
If 440 V supply has given at the secondary winding of transformer at that time if we apply 11 KV at primery then what will happen???????
At site, we have 30Kw motor (3 phase, 400V,50Hz) and FLC 54A as per the nameplate. At the time of starting it draws 840A instead of 390A (7.2%). As per the data sheet also its 390A starting current. it thru a dol starter from the MCC. can anyone tell what is the problem in the motor
What will happen if i connect two 3-phase tranformers secondary supply on one bus bar that is R-Y-B-N?
I have draw the 350A DC current, so what is the size of cable i can use? Give me the answer with formula
