WHAT IS LINIER MOTOR?..

Answer / mahavir jagdev

Answer No:3 is correct, it is like pening the stator winding of an induction motor and the rotor will run at synchronous speed, less the slip. The elctromagnetic field will also provide the lift. The proble comes how to guide the rotor without any mechanical friction for sideways drifting .... I believe MAGLEV trains use side magnets to guide the trains for frictionless rolling above the rail tracks.
