lighting arrester shoul be placed on both side of the
switchyard.at the starting end with each phase lighting
arrester should be places and at the end point of switchyard
with each phase it should be placed.

installed on each R,Y B phases on the primary side of the
power transformrs.LAs directly discharges heavy currents
produced due to lightening to the ground thru heavy copper
strips.this prevents heavy damages to CTs,PTs and other
metering equipments.

placed on both d sides,if it is a hv-lv transformr la can b
