less.. its very simple wen a body is at rest, friction b/w
the body and the surface will be more. whereas, a body
starts moving wen d friction decreases and so is d kinetic
friction..

static friction is not always greater than kinetic
friction but we can say the maximum value of static
friction i.e. limiting friction is always greater than
kinetic friction.

kinetic friction is less than static friction

Answer / vaneshwar sahu
static friction depends upon applied force, whereas kinetic friction is a constant force when body is in motion. static friction varies from zero to limiting friction, which is greater than kinetic friction, thus we can say that, static friction can be more or less than kinetic friction depending upon force applied,

i think , static friction is more compared with kinetic
friction.we can compare this with active and reactive
force.active force is the force required to overcome the
friction and cause the object to move whereas reactive
force is used to continue that moving.so static is
proportional to active and kinetic is proportional to
reactive
