costing based in copa is to generate reports with in the
controlling area which has no effect on fi but receives
data from fi sd mm

accounting based in copa is for reports or information
regading finance ie financial expenses

Costing based COPA its own tables, like CEXXXX, whereas
account based COPA uses the tables of cost a/cing, i.e the
tables used by CCA and IO.
