INSTRUMENTATION

Before knowing the concepts, one should know, what
instrumentation is.
In simple sense, instrumentation is art rather than a
science of taking measurements.
Now you can think of all the posible ways to measure a
physical parameter.
take example of measuring flow rate of any fluid.
the flow of fluid is proportional to the diffrential
pressure created when its flow is restricted, also the flow
is proportional to the amount of heat it can remove from a
hot source, or the change in frequency of ultasonic waves
made to pass in a flow, and also flow is proportional to
the voltage generated across electrodes when placed in a
magnetic field.... and the list goes on.
this was a small example to show that any fundamental can
be somehow related to a physical parameter, search for an
appropriate instrument compling in terms of cost, material
and technical specifications regarding the measureand.
The fundamental aim of instrumentation is to measure the
physical parameter and convert it into appropriate user
friendly form like digital readouts or graphical views.
And the book by B.G Liptak is Bible for instrumentation.

Please buy B.G.Liptek book volume - 1 and volume - 2 which
covers both measurement and control.
AS Instrumentation is a concept of measurement + Control.
How you measure and how you control the parameters is the
concept of instrumentation.
You can get the books from Mumbai, If you have any source
try to get it.
