The main difference between active and passive components is
that active ones require to be powered in some way to make
them work. Active components can also be used to amplify
signals.

Answer / nakul
*Active Component:-Active component are always used for
amplifying the input signal e.g. 1.Transistor 2.integrated
circuit
*Passive Components:- Passive Component are opposing as will
as Filtering the voltage & current 1.Resistor 2.Capacitor
3.inductor

ACTIVE COMPONENTS:
Components react with applied signals & produce changes is known as ACTIVE COMPONENTS.
PASSIVE COMPONENTS:
Components react with applied & remains silent, not produce any change is known as PASSIVE COMPONENTS.

ACTIVE COMPONENTS:
The components which produce(generate) the energy in the
form of current or voltage are called as active components.
Example:transistors, FET,Op-amp,voltage source, current
source etc,.
PASSIVE COMPONENTS:
The components which store the energy or (consume the
power)in the form of current or voltage are called as
passive components.
example:inductors,resistors,capacitors etc,.

active components :- the components which can amplify or
processes by themselves is known as active components.
Ex:-transistors,diodes,integrated circuits,vacuum
tubes,glass tubes,etc,.....
passive components :-the components which can amplify or
processes by themselves is known as passive components.
Ex:-resistor ,capacitor ,inductor,transformer,etc,.....

hello friends active components are the sources which produce energy in a circuit , where as the passive components are the sources which dissipate or absorb energy in a circuit.
eg of active sources are diodes ,transistors etc.
eg of passive sources are resistor ,capacitor ,inductor etc...

Answer / raj thakur
active components are those components which regenerate the
signal strength
on the other hand passive component stores the energy in
the form of voltage and current.

Active
The elements which are capable of delivering energy are called "Active elements".Examples of active devices are Transistors, Triacs, Varistors, Vacuum Tubes, relays, solenoids and piezo electric devices.
Passive
The elements which will receive the energy and dissipate or store it are called "Passive elements".The three linear passive elements are the Resistor, the Capacitor and the Inductor. Examples of non-linear passive devices would be diodes, switches and spark gaps.

In an electrical, computer or storage system, active components are those that require electrical power to operate. This could include the power supply, fans, storage device, transistors, diodes and other integrated circuits r called as active components
And the components that does not require electrical power to operate is known as passive components which include capacitors etc.
