In SAP MaxDB, Layers and Routes are two different concepts:n1. Layers: They are a method for organizing database objects into logical groups. There are three layers in MaxDB - System Layer, Application Layer, and User Layer. Each layer has specific access rights to the database objects.n2. Routes: They define the paths through which SQL statements can be processed by different systems (like ABAP or Java). Routes determine how a statement is executed based on its syntax and other factors.
