An Extended Star Schema is a data model in SAP BW that extends the traditional Star Schema by including one or more dimension tables with additional attributes. The dimension table(s) containing the additional attributes are called 'outer' tables, while the rest of the dimension and fact tables are considered 'inner' tables. These outer tables are not part of the cube but can be used for more detailed analysis.
