I have a problem with a valve (air to close).
When it is fully closed and try to open 1% it doesn't responce till 3% open suddenly more than 3% then back to 3%.
I tried to tune positioner then removed it, the problem still exist.
Any idea

There can be may issues :
1) Very first indication is that your plug and seat are having some foreign particles or uneven surface which is restricting the valve for initial opening.
2) Check the springs of the actuator for any crack as when pressure is increased it lifts the valve.
3) Check for positioner relay.

first decoupled the actuator then ensure and mark on the stem of full opening and closing, then couple the actuator stem and plug on fully 100 % open of marking position. finally to ensure zero passing test.just close the control valve and fil the water on bonnet inlet.same passing tht u feel means place the nut or iron piece something inb/w the coupling.then ensure again on zero passing test.if again feel the passing means pls to do lapping on seating...then take an trail.

Hi buddies! my name is sachin and i am working as a electrical and instrumentation engineer in a paper plant. right now i am facing a problem and if someone could help me it will be an immense pleasure to me. i am using AC 800M to synchronise DCS500 drives on paper machine and rewinder.communication is on PROFIBUS and we are using NPBA-01 module to link profibus to DC drives. But these days two of these drives are showing a error named FIELDBUS COMM.TIMED OUT and the drives get tripped.I have changed the NPBA module and PROFIBUS cable. So if anyone can do please help me out with this problem.I'll be highly grateful.
