I am a instrument technician. recently i attend interview and face one of question for DP transmitter ,the client asking about the calibration of DP transmitter ,am answer the calibration procedure, they will ask one more question. why open LP side in atmosphere? i did not answer that question. so please help me and explain the particular question. The pressure in the open tank is Atmospheric pressure only. so no need to compensate the pressure at LP side. Just leave it (LP Side)to atmosphere.

Calibration coefficient we titration differential pressure device through the injection amount of pressure in the high side and at the same time the low side open to atmospheric pressure, because pressure air fixed and unchanging and the device works on the difference between Aldgate if the equation realized there atmospheric pressure fixed and your controlled pressure from here the differential pressure is measured

Calculate the maximum pressure drop that can be allowed to occur across a control valve, so that we can prevent cavitation / flashing from occurring. Use the following formula: Δ P allow = Km (P1 – PvapourA) where, Δ P allow - the maximum allowable differential pressure for sizing purposes, or terminal pressure drop; Km- the valve recovery coefficient from the manufacturer’s catalogue; P1 - absolute inlet fluid pressure; PvapourA - absolute fluid vapour pressure at the inlet temperature; Use Atmospheric pressure = 101.3 kPa, P1 = 1200 kPa(g), PvapourA = 4 kPa, KM = 0.72
