1sqm required steel is 10-12kg approx.
and for 1MT=12000KG

it depends on type of building that means housing building or public building in average 2-5 kgs for sft in average

There is no short cut or thumb rule for any such question. You have to provide the minimum data at least. Whether it is a column structure or load bearing wall. What is the foundation type etc .But Simply we calculate 2-5kg/sft.
