In normal operation if boiler feed pump stop within a 1 min level goes down to become zero. For best practices when tube leakage heavily fuel feeding stop, take down the load, maintain draft , and take manually FRS system to maintain drum level as for as possible. For latest technology improvement ultra sonic senser are deployed for detection of location of tube failure.

When boiler is steaming, only then leak will develop because of steam pressure and faulty tube part. Now in case of heavy tube leakage, boiler must be stopped immediately and maintain drum level in order to avoid starvation and further damage of tubes. Moreover boiler need to be depressurized simultaneously.

Hi,
I am assuming you want to stop the feed water to attend the tube leakage. But it is not clear what the question is about. IF the light up has been done,I do not think the flow of the water in boiler can b stopped. Secondly if light up has not been done then better to shut down the unit and properly take up tube leakage attending procedure.

DCS marshaling Cabinet Power supply can be replace during plant running time? Answer Yes it is possible. I am talking about the controller and cards power supply modules. They are always redundant and connected through diode so that if one power supply fails the other can take the charge immediately.so it is possible to replace one of them in running plant if the other one is healthy. MY question is how switching done.
