If the L.A. is intact ,you have to assume that it in working
condition.There is no need to test it with high voltage ,as
it is already subjected to working voltage .Only physical
examination may help you.In case of E.H.T,LA ,it is usually
provided with stay-put pointer ammeter to measure leakage
current.You have to replace the L.A. when the pointer enters
the red region.

I am working in 600MW power plant currently in erection phase. I came along this term and want to know its meaning in simple language, consider me naive!?? All motors shall be of energy efficient type EFF-2 as per IS:12615/ equivalent IEC / International Standard.
