I have 90KW Motor 60 Hz,380V Pf 0,88. after testing the Motor without Load is the no load Current ..

Answer / linu mohan

motor full load current is 155-162A for different categories
of make;so check from which load the motor is connected
ex-compressor,pump or crusher likewise anything
1)compressor- air might have blocked in the filter due to
impurities in the air after few hrs,so motor taking high
current.
2)pump-jamming might have blocked in the filter due to
impurities in the water after few hrs,so motor taking high
current.
if the motor is kept in a closed atmospheric room then due
to heatness after few hrs motor will take full load current
&tripping occurs,so to avoid that; place an exhaust in there.

last option clear that its not a star delta feeder...

if then also problem is not solved&strikes again then it
comes under mechanical head for sure

I have 90KW Motor 60 Hz,380V Pf 0,88. after testing the Motor without Load is the no load Current ..

Answer / michael

the simpliest answer to your question is in this example.

example you have to lift a 10 kg of rice, you use a little strength in order to lift it, but if your tying to lift a 50 kg of rice, you will exert much effort and strength in order to lift it. it is similar to the motor. if there is higher load the current will increase in order to satisfy the load required..

I have 90KW Motor 60 Hz,380V Pf 0,88. after testing the Motor without Load is the no load Current ..

Answer / ketan patekar

90 KW motor full load current carrying capacity is 236 ampere..
And yes when you connect load than afcourse your motor will carry ampere as per your load.
So here everything is ok.
If your motor carrying above 236 ampere current than there is some fault like your load is high or impeller or frame or design problem etc
