how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / vinod kumar, sriharikota

Dia of known bar d1=12 mm

spacing of known bar s1=150mm

d2=16mm , s2= ?

d1^2 / s1 = d2^2 /s2

s2 = (d2^2 x s1)/ (d1^2)

spacing of 16 mm bar =266.666 mm

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / sunil1505

dia 12 - 150
if 16 mm - 16*150/12

but after taking that spacing we should calculate the area
of steel in concrete..we should match the area of steel in
12 mm = area of steel 16 mm in that structure.

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / lohit havalagi

very simple when we increase the diameter of the reinforcing bar it results in increased area, so INCREASE the spacing to get the required area of steel.

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / mustafa mohd layeak

Consider 1m strip of slab.
Using 12mm dia bar with a spacing of 150mm,we get
Area of steel=754sqmm/m length.
So if using 16mm dia bar we get a new spacing
s=[(1000*201)/754].therefore new spacing
s=266 mmc/c. therefore use 16mm dia bar@250mmc/c.
But check [M/V + L']>dev length at support.

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / er.pramod k saroj

before D1=12 and s1=150 so change dia = D2=16. and spacing =S2= ? solve = S1xD2/D1. 150x16=2400/12=200mm. ans= 200 mm

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / daniel lemma

Let assume for 1m (1000mm) span
d1=12mm
s1=150 approx No. =8pcs

d2=16mm
s1=? approx No. =?
We have to use this formula
d1^2 / s1 = d2^2 /s2 So s2=266.66 and
approx Spacing 250mm, and
New approx No of bar will be 4pcs

Is This Answer Correct ?    13 Yes 2 No

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / sumit

Suppose known spacing (S1) for Dia (D1)
Define Spacing (S2) for Dia (D2)

So : S2=S1*D2/D1

Then u get answer

how can change 12mmdia@150c/c bar spacing to 16mmdia..

Answer / kunal chandra singh

We can calculate the weight of 12 mm rebar in 1 sq m area with 150 mm spacing after that we can calculate by compairing 16 mm dia with calculated weight per sq m area to calculate unknown spacing .

Is This Answer Correct ?    7 Yes 2 No
