First and foremost role of a leader is to direct his team members in a way that they become self directed towards the common goal....
In Pharma, definitely supervision of implementation of strategies as well as processes , managing important customers in terms of growing revenues from them . At the same time analysing market /Area in terms of potential for his therapy area, market share of his products vs competitors , and identifying business opportunities in trade as well as instts.
Also a Business Manager should allocate and reallocate available resources within team so as to ensure maximum and optimum utilisation of all resources.
Apart, setting targets and delegating tasks to team members , channel management , tracking performance periodically, developing networks required to collaborate among departments or teams so that business objectives are achieved .
At the same time, all this is achievable if he understands the team members development needs , and try guide them and motivate them to do the task expected.
Lastly, a BM in Pharma is the most important link between field person and senior management .....
