what is tie-beam?where it used?..

Answer / pradeep

Tie beam is a beam connecting two or more columns for
making it more stiffns to make the structure as a frame for
stability. Tie beam not carry and vertical load of slab or
walls but take axial compression load so some time act as a
horizontal column.

Answer / sanjeev kumar jain

The tie beam is a terminology used for a beam whose
function is not to carry the slab load but just to act as a
stiffner to the columns and thereby reduce the long column
effect. Sometimes it also acts as a damp proof course at
the plinth level and as a seperator for ventilators and
doors when placed at the lintel level.

what is tie-beam?where it used?..

Answer / mark joseph

A Tie Beam is a structural member which holds other members in place. It literally ties together the members(Columns, beams, footings, walls frames). The load that comes on the tie beam depends on the position and purpose. Usually they are designed for higher tensile load and end moments.

what is tie-beam?where it used?..

Answer / mursal ardale

Tie beam locates the to of ground floor and connects column and the footings to keep up settlement, it doesn't take the load from the slab but just for stiffener only.

what is tie-beam?where it used?..

Answer / madhu sudan reddy

Tie beam is a interconnecting beam between columns and footings. It will transfer load coming from columns to footing equally

what is tie-beam?where it used?..

Answer / ben razon

tie beams are structures provided in between columns whose height is more 5 meters. as every knows tie beam does not carry any direct axial loads nor the weight of the slabs or the columns. tie beams normally considered important if the foundation was determined shallow or the if the foundations is sitting on file drive suspensions due to stubborn seismic.
