what is difference between Rich client web intelligence and Boxir2 web intelligence..

Answer / guest

well,

In R2
we are suppose to login into infoview to work with WEB-I,
so u need to have permissions to work on web I documents
and also
you are not going to save the reports in local system.

In XI3.0
Rich Client software can be installed with Enterprise
version of BO
so directly you can login
you can work with Excel,CSV files directly
able to save the web I reports in ur local system from the
repository

And many advantages.....

what is difference between Rich client web intelligence and Boxir2 web intelligence..

Answer / nameer

BOXIR2 :
In R2 version we have only connected web intelligence. That
means we need to maintain the connection with the central
management server whenever we are using the webintelligence
or infoview.Advantage here is we can access the application
from any client machine with the infoview url.
BOXIR3 :
In latest (R3) version we have disconnected webintelligence
tool which is called rich client. the advantage of using
rich client is no need to have the connection with central
managenement server. But it should be connected to central
management server for atleast once before we use it,
because all the server credentials would be stored in the
local system from the server when you connect it with CMS
for the first time.

what is difference between Rich client web intelligence and Boxir2 web intelligence..

Answer / jayant

In R2 we can only use webi in 2 tier or 3 tier. We need to
have Application sever up and running to see the infoview
console. However one advantage is that since its web based
we can open it on any client machine.

In R3 we have a dedicated client for Webi. This is not web
based so need not have Application server. However you need
to have it installed to use it on each client to use it.
There are multiple modes in each we can login to Webi rich
client.
