you should gather the following info from client for universe.
a. Business Process,its flow
b. what is the source of universe i.e OLAP or OLTP
c. Database details(like tables,cardinality
relationship,values,aggregate tables details)
d. How the data is stored in DB from process flow
e. E-R Diagram
f. Object mapping details,formulas for creating objects if
any, object names, class names
For Report:
a. Report object details
b. Formula details which is used in report if any
c. Report Layout include report headers, font
size,logo,position of logo,etc.
d. Report Types

we can gather information by asking QUESTION TO THE CLIENT
like WHAT,WHY,WHEN and HOW.
Role of BO Developer is,
--->Firstly we have to understand the Business Process and
user requirement of the client.
--->Based on that we have to design and develope Universe.
--->test the universe.
--->Design and develope Reports.
--->Fianlly view and share reports between endiusers.

In source system we have os - windows BO - 5.1.5. with webi 2.7.1 Repository database - oracle Reports database - Oracle and DB2 Nearly we have 1200 reports in present system , i want to move as it is to new hardware os- windows bo- 5.1.5 with webi2.7.1 repository - oracle reports - oracle and db2 let me know is there any migration techniques in same version. thanks in advance Usha

Its regarding Javascript coding for customization in BI4 reports. We need to have all the options disabled in the report except the option to Export(save the report in computer in Excel/pdf formats). I am able to hide TopBar,TabBar,Left Navigation etc but I need "Export" option to be displayed to the users in Read mode. Can this selective "hiding" be achieved?
