Shrinkage has two types
One is Planned -It means people have informed you prior
that they wont come to office today which you know before &
Second is unplanned- means simple people with sudden leave
Lets assume
Tean Total =20
Planned Leave is 2
Unplanned Leave is 4
Planned Formula is =2/20=0.1
Unplanned Formula is =4/20=0.2
Total :0.3 if you put percentage you will get 30% for the
day
Both add together will be the shrinkage = 30%
--------------------------------
Attrition means
People who resigned from the Concern or Absond without
informing the reporting.
Formula : No of Atrrition/(Opening of the month + Closing
of the month)/2*100
Lets assume
Opening -20
Closing -16
=4/(20+16)/2/100 = 5.5% is attrition
I hope its very clear.
Thanks

Shrinkage - Absence from work is termed as shrinkage
It has two types
Planned - where employees have informed in prior
Unplanned - where employees haven't informed in prior or wasn't a planned leave or a sudden leave
Example
Team Total =20
Planned Leave = 2
Unplanned Leave = 4
Planned Leave Formula =
Planned Leave / Team Total*100 =(2/20)*100 = 10%
Unplanned Leave Formula =
Planned Leave / (Team Total-Planned Leave)*100
=4/(20-4)*100) = 25%
Total Shrinkage for the day =
Planned Leave + Unplanned Leave / (Total Team - Planned Leave)*100
=2+4)/(20-2)*100 = 33.33%
Attrition
Employees who resign from the work voluntarily or terminated involuntarily are defined as attrited or attrition.
Attrition Terms
Number of attrition - Voluntary + Involuntary in the month
(OHC) Opening Head count - Employees available at the first day of the month
(CHC) Closing Head count - Employees available at the last day of the month, excluding the employees who left the organization
Attrition Formula
Number of Attrition / ((Opening Headcount + Closing Headcount)/2) *100
Example
OHC = 50
CHC = 45
Attrition = 5
Attrition % = 5/((50+45)/2)*100 = 10.52%

There are two types of Shrinkage.1) Planned and other is Unplanned.
Planned Shrinkage-No of Agents are of Week and leave/ total no of agents present in the team..
Unplanned- No of people ABSENT/total no of agents rostered for the day.
Attrition-no of attrition/(opening +closing)/2*100 ie
2/(20+22)/2*100
=2/21*100
=9.52%

Answer / raj
Attrition % = No. of attrites for the period / Average headcount for the period X 100
Period could be month, quarter, semi-annual, annual, etc;
For example, let us assume we calculate attrition for the month;
Opening headcount = 100
Attrites = 5
Closing headcount = 100-5 = 95
Hence, average headcount = ((100+95)/2) = 97.5
= ((5/97.5)*100) = 5.13%
Attrition % = 5.13%
