variable is that which allows user to see data dynamically

varable types : characterstics
hie
hie nodes
text
formula elements
to display 12 months data in report
put 0calmonth on top of the structure in columns
ans put all ur key fig in that structure

Variables are place holders of values that are filled dynamically during query execution.

For your Example .

1) If you need 12 months of a year just use 0CALYEAR variable

EX : ZRP_YR_VAR

Get the cal year from user with following properties.
1) Manual entry/ default value
2) Variable is ready for input
3) Variable is Manditory

2) If you need any 12 months (maybe APRIL to March) variable use 0CALMONTH

create a new selection and add the keyfigure and ZRP_YR_VAR variable.

EX : ZRP_MONTH_ST_VAR

Get the Start calmonth from user with following properties.
1) Manual entry/ default value
2) Variable is ready for input
3) Variable is Manditory

create a new selection variable and restrict it to variable ranges

select start month as starting and
select Start month as end and offset it to 12 by right clicking and giving offset value.
