MCB it is operating automatically when load or fault current
exceed the predefined value but isolator is not operating
automatically it is not breaking the load or fault current.

Dear all,
Isolator is used to isolate the system during fault from
healthy system.
Mcb it is miniature circuit breaker which is used to
protect the sysem from short circuit, earth fault...it
operates automatically when relay gives the command to
circuit breaker.

Isolater is used to isolate our devices form Supply. but
there is no protection in isolater. If any fault current
comes our devises or isolater get damaged. Eg: Switch
But MCB is used for circuit protection rather than
isolation. If any fault current comes MCB will trip and
protect or devise.
Different types of MCB's are there B,C,D curve MCB. that
depend up on Instantinous tripping Chara of MCB.

Answer / sweety kumari
Isolater is manually operated switch where as circuit breaker is auto operated switch .isolator work on off load condition only for maintenance purpose while circuit breaker is used on onload condition just to make and break the contact .

Isolator means for two one phase & one neutral & mcb stands
for only one phase.

Answer / ramanjan
MCB will interrupt flow of fault or excess load current into the circuit under load condition.
Isolator wont interrupt flow of fault current but it is used to disconnect the faulty circuit from healty circuit under noload condition only

Answer / akshay jangra
There is not much difference. MCB is used only on LIVE wire which isolates when excess current flows and ISOLATOR is a combined form of two MCBs which isolates LIVE wire as well as NEUTRAL...

Let's say I have 2 current carrying conductors C1 and C2 carrying currents of 5A and 10A. They are brought close to each other from a distance of infinity to a distance of 10cm away from each other - 1. What would be the values of current flowing in each conductor when (taking into account effects of interference of each conductor on the other) - a. The currents are AC b. The currents are DC c. C1 is AC and C2 is DC Please explain your answer with mathematical equations and formulas. Please specify the final numeric answer. Please make assumptions and clearly specify them.
