MMWC and Kg/cm2 both are pressure measuring units but difference between both unit is in pressure range ,means MMWC unit used to measurement of low pressure and Kg/cm2 used for High pressure measurement.Because,
1Kg/cm2=10000 MMWC

Unit Conversion :-
1 kg/cm2 = 0.98 bar
1 kg/cm2 = 98.06 kPa = 0.098 MPa
1 kg/cm2 = 980.665 mbar = 10000 mmwc = 735.56 mmhg = 29 inhg
1 kg/cm2 = 14.22 psi (lb/in2)
1 bar = 1.01 kg/cm2
1 bar = 100 kPa = 0.1 MPa
1 bar = 1000mbar = 14.50 psi

To measure low pressure we need to use this unit of
pressure Hence 10000mmwc=1kg/cm2
1 Kg/cm2 is 1.033 bar or 1.033x10^5 N/m2
10000 mmwc= 1 kg/cm2
low pressure can also be
used for but the error in values will be more.
Basically 10000 mmwc is 1 kg/cm2 a.

when we r measuring very low pressure :: mmWC and general terms is Draft pressure and measuring high pr. :: kg/cm2/bar/psi...for example we r measuring like boiler furnaces pressure and flue gas path (draft) i.e very low pr.(250mmWC) so we r measuring in mmWC, and when we are calibrating the flow, draft and level transmitters we will indicate the range in mmWC. The error value for FSD will be higher side for the transmitters which are calibrated in mmWC.

We are using the mmWC for very low or lower than 0 and more than 0 we are using Kg/cm2.

Answer / vaibhav v t
First of all using kg/cm2 for pressure is absoltely
wrong.pressure is force per unit area and unit of force is
newton, so pressure unit is N/cm2 and not kg/cm2.MMwc is
used for low pressure measurement and N/cm2 is used for
high pressure measurement.
