IDMT relays are used in the protection ckt for electrical
system like E/F and O/C and in distance protection for line
ckt .IDMT means Inverce definet minimum time means low time
on high fault.

the relay tripping time decreases when the fault current of
the system increases.this relay mainly used for Distribution
feeder, transformer, AC machines protection and over load
protection of AC power system.
