NGR is neutral ground resistance. 5-10 % of full load
current passes through NGRcduring system ombalance.
Restricted earth fault current passes through NGR till
automatic protection takes place. NGR absorbs the earth
pressure and protects the transformer windngs.
God Bless

GM, I have query that how the current flow comes from leakage fault point to NGR pit? For example my motor is located far away from transformer location and the cable got exposed and severe ground fault happens thus the huge current flows in it. In that case how NGR protects the system? Also I read that NGR allows one fault and the second instance only will trip and protect the circuit, I cant get that how it is.
Can some one clarify me, Thanks
