IN GIS SF6 GAS IS USED FOR INSULATION.SINCE SF6 HAS HIGH
DIELECTRIC STRENGTH THAN AIR. AND THUS GIS IS USED FOR
HIGHER VOLTAGES AND REQUIRES MUCH LESS SPACE THEN AIS BUT
AT HIGHER COST.

gis meanse
gas insulated substation
ais means air insulated substation
gis is of high cost than ais
but works efficiently
gis requres very less land when compared with ais
these are some differences there are many
but gis replaces ais in soon
