what is amf panel & how it is working

AMF panel is Autamatic Mains Fail panel.
It is not just an electrical panel.A suitably sized gen set is connected to it.The AMF panel has a sensing circuit which can detect a power failure. Now the moment the panel detects a power failure the genset is started automatically. Automatic change over isolators are connected, where the power supply from the mains is changed over to that of the genset. The genset will run and provide the power supply until mains power is available again. The sensing circuit in the AMF panel will detect this and after an adjustable time the automatic changeover isolators will revert back to the mains supply. After a while the genset will switch off on its own.
The AMF panel is connected with certain protections electrically for the genset. It is suppose to operate on its own.The AMF panel is usually connected to important services like security, hospitals and important businesses.
The AMF panel must be tested regularly to ensure it is in working order when the mains fail Otherwise all the money invested in the AMF panel is wasted

Answer / iar
it is the system to control the standby generator, it stand
for - auto mains failure- and it is working as ATS system
plus it can control the main incomers and make the
necessary synchronizing to restore the power from the main
incomer and after that stop the standby generator

AMF panel is the short form of Auto Man Failure panel. It is normally connected to the generator set to control the generator set function. It can call the generator set if the AMF further connected to the Main Switch Board ( received power from the other source - normally from the local authority ) which equipped with auto transfer switch/automatic changeover contactor. While normal supply serve to main switch board failed, the AMF board will send the power failure signal to generator set. Then the generator set will run and serve the supply to main switch board.

Amf panel= automatic mains failure panel .
in this panel 2 i/p , like 1) generator and 2) mains .
suppose mains supply fail to supply load at that time DG start .
in amf panel automatic transfer switch are used to transfer power when main fail .its sense by ats controller , controller give the command ats switch and switch transfer at DG SIDE.

Hi all, please could anybody give me a suggestion about Electrical designs and calculations .. what text book should i follow as i am a trainee engineer and here work going not so favorable to me so please help me friends .. A small discription about my work which is going here is all about Electrical designs like cable sizing, lighting, lightning, Gensets sizing, motor sizing, transformer sizing, generator sizing, circuit breakers, PDB MCC PCC SLDB MLDB panels, Single line diagrams mainly, substation desings, cable routing and layouts, reactive power compensations, power factor improvement, voltage drop calculations, power generations, power transmission, power distributions all calculations i need .. please please if anybody experienced with this problem and got a solution then please help me .. just i need an apt text book for these all calculations and designs ..

what is the difference between star connected and delta connected motors
Tesla is the unit of which parameter?
if an insulated power and control cables of a running gas diesel gensets laid direct in an open trench i.e, trench bed is not rcc of a power house in which rain water, spillage water alwas exists and all power control cables remains submerged even when gas gensets of 480 kw each runningin on load. These power &control cables runs from power house to switchgear room through these trenches in which water remains most of the time. pl explain its merit & de-merit
