The type of signal going to control valve is either a
pneumatic or electronic signal. For a pneumatic signal its
3 to 15 PSI or 0.2 to 1.0 kg/cm2. For electronic signal its
4 to 20 mA.

Control Valve is final control element of clost loop. So
signal coming to control valve will be in pneumatic form
but depends on size of Valve. It can be 3-15 PSI or 0.2 -
1kg/cm2 but it is not fixed. There is one instrument called
Positioner which will convert 3-15 PSI signal to desired
siganl depending on Control valve.
For any Contol Valve signal will come from Control room in
the form of 4-20 mA. this 4-20 mA signal was converted to 3-
15 PSI signal by instrument called I/P converter. This
siganl will go to positioner and the positioner o/p is
given to valve actuator to get desired opening and closing.

The signal type depends on
the location of control valve!
For explosive hazard area the
signal be pneumatic and be 3
to 15psi! The converters be
mounted in somewhat
distanted area! For all control
valves the signal be 4to 20mA
over 1to 5 volts from a
control room! For inbuild
current to pressure
converters control valves the
signal be 4to20mA over 1to
5volts dc

I have installed a RTD whose length is 2250mm(RTD stem length), but it's upper 200 -250mm is out of the reactor, and this upper 200mm stem is surrounded by atmospheric temp. And the lower portion i.e. 2000mm is in contact with the measuring fluid, then does the final measuring temp. Gonna change as the upper 200mm RTD stem is out of reactor?

I am using Capacitive type level transmitter for measuring oil level in a closed tank (lub oil tank). The txs range is 1500mm, and they do hunt regularly (for about 45mm), can anybody tell what could be the reason??? or any other type level tx that could be used to avoid this?
