cooling tower height depends on many factor, however design conditions like wet bulb temperature, approach and range decide the height of the tower. more the approach less is the tower height and more the range more is the tower height. however approach is more defining factor as wet bulb temperature is the theoretical lowest temp attainable by evaporative cooling(which is main mode of cooling in cooling tower in comparison to sensible cooling. still other minor factors also play role like site location wind etc.
