If there is major % of Voltage harmonics in the system, how can it be control or reduced?..

Answer / Amit Garg

Voltage harmonics can cause several issues in electrical systems. To control or reduce them, you can implement the following measures: 1) Use harmonic filters or capacitors to counteract the harmful effects of harmonics. 2) Ensure that power factor correction is done effectively within your system. 3) Choose equipment with low inherent harmonic levels. 4) Proper grounding and cabling practices can also help in reducing voltage harmonics.

I am new guy as an electrical engr. in a 100MW HFO based power project. I am in operations division. I have noticed from last few days, my supervisor sends the last 24 hours energy generation calculation to my plant manager. I have noticed, he calculated last 24 hour's generated energy differences in KWH then he multiplied it with a multiplying factor 960. for example: total difference =2.685 KWH*960= 2577.6 MWH. but he does not not know what is multiplying factor 960?? can anybody explain it??
