Why high voltage lines (overhead ) are called high tension
lines?

It has nothing to do with the physical tension on the wires.
Rather, it's based on old terminology. In the early
1900's, voltage was seen as "electrical pressure" or
"electrical tension." While "pressure" is no longer used to
describe voltage (outside of educational analogies), the
term "High Tension" is still used when describing wires used
to transmit at a high voltage and low current.

Voltage is potential energy. It is sometimes referred to as
potential. The tension on a stretched or compressed spring
or on a bent or straightened leaf spring is also potential
energy. Charging a capacitor to put a voltage on it means
doing work on it, just as lifting a rock means doing work on
the rock. The weight of the rock that you feel with your
arm is tension, potential energy, like voltage. Just as you
can feel the weight of the rock as a force, you can see
voltage as a force that drives charges; and of course you
can see the tension on the wound spring of a wristwatch as a
force that drives the works.

normally the transmission lines bend b/w the supports due
to its length and the conductor weight. Because of this
field will be created around the conductor, which ionises
the air around the conductor by which the eneegy is
dissipated as heat(this produces hizzing noise). this makes
the difference between sending end & recieving end voltage.
the amount by which line is bending is proportional to the
losses in the line. that is why the lines have been
tensioned at their supports.

Normally the overhead cable are highly tensioned at both
ends(between the transmission tower) to avoid induction loss
(if transmission line is curve shaped, Power loss can
happen).
So that its called High tensioned Lines

I have an answer in my mind . In high voltage power
transmission system the gap between the poles ( hold the
transmission line ) are much more than low voltage
transmission . The power cables suspend freely between
poles. As gap between two poles more the tension of
suspended cables also very high . For this reason high
voltage lines are called high tension lines.
