Why high voltage lines (overhead ) are called high tension
lines?
Answer Posted / prosenjit majumder
I have an answer in my mind . In high voltage power
transmission system the gap between the poles ( hold the
transmission line ) are much more than low voltage
transmission . The power cables suspend freely between
poles. As gap between two poles more the tension of
suspended cables also very high . For this reason high
voltage lines are called high tension lines.
